Blue the Maine Coon cat

Blue is 7 years old and as you can see he likes to have his photo taken.  When he's not eating or sleeping, he enjoys curling up with our dog Moose and grooming her.  Moose returns the favour before they both fall asleep together.  Blue also enjoys wrestling with Ketchup our other cat, although he usually ends up losing.  It's hard work but someone's got to do it.

Moose, the Staffie Cross

Moose is 11 years old and she is a rescue dog.  We had gone to the Animal Shelter to find a 2nd dog and whilst checking out all the residents , we were led to a room where the cats were kept.  There were cages with a variety of moggies and I wondered what we were doing in the cat enclosure when we were looking for a dog.  The lady showing us around explained that there was a puppy in a cage next to the cats as she was very young and who had been in the shelter for 7 days after being found roaming the city streets.  We came upon a tiny black puppy, wagging her tail and gazing up at us with her big puppy eyes.  She was let out of her cage and she flew past us and straight over to the cage that housed the cats. She stood up with her front paws on the cage door and started barking at them. We decided there and then she was the one and she came home with us.

Now 11 years later, she is a bit grey around the muzzle but she will always be that little puppy who taunted the poor cats as she trotted off to her new life.

Hector the Shetland Pony

Hector my  golden oldie Shetland pony can no longer chew long grass or hay and has to be fed on soaked veteran horse food which she loves.   At dinner time she  will sneak away from the other ponies and slip through a small gap in the hedge that only she can fit through, into the adjoining field.  Once there, she stands at the gate stamping her feet impatiently until her bucket of food appears.  The other ponies can only look on longingly as she tucks in.  Passers by will stop and give her treats, feeling sorry for her all on her own in the field. How little they know. Once she has eaten and as the night draws in and all the passers-by have gone, she goes back through her gap in the hedge to rejoin the other ponies.

My Animals

KAMI

Kami the German Shepherd, went for her first walk in a month since having her operations.  She had to stay on the lead but she didn't mind, she was just glad to go further than the garden.

She has amassed her own wardrobe of t shirts to keep her scar protected but they play havoc with her street cred.  She was glad we took the t shirt off before taking her to the park .

Fingers crossed it should only be a couple more weeks then she can go back to being a GSD who doesn't wear clothes and is free to run off the lead through the woods again..
