Hoof Trimming Time

Today was the 2nd appointment for the Shetlands to have their hooves trimmed and as usual the day was a disaster.
The original appointment last week was cancelled due to heavy rainfall as the trimming has to be done outside.
So today the outlook was good, the sky was clear and I went to catch the Shetlands so they would be ready and waiting for when the Farrier arrived. After catching Holly and Tia, I went to get Fern. Unfortunately, Fern had different plans and decided she was not having her hooves trimmed today. After over an hour trying to catch her I realised the Farrier should have arrived by now. After several failed attempts to reach him on the phone (a common occurrence) and as it was now getting dark, I gave it up as a bad job and released Holly and Tia. I finally got through to the Farrier later in the evening (with no explanation for the failed visit) and made a 3rd appointment for the weekend. Oh joy!
